Ken had seen Barbie several times before, but he had never worked up the courage to ask her out in a date. Then one day he saw her sitting alone at the café near the river.
“it’s  now or never” Ken said to himself as he walked over to her table and said:

“Hi , I’m Ken.” He said.

She looked up at him and smiled when she said “Hello, I’m Barbie.”

“Can I sit down and join you with another cup of tea?” he asked.

“Yes, sure you can.” She smiled and pointed to the chair against hers.

He sat down and asked the waitress for a cup of tea.

While he was waiting he thought of how pretty she looked when she was watching the river floating by.

The embarrassing silent was almost gone now and he didn’t have any tea left so he closed his eyes and relaxed.

After a while he heard her turn her head to his and he opened his eyes slowly. She was looking right on him and when he opened his eyes she smiled a big smile.

“Do you want to go on a walk along the river with me?” she smiled, stood up and held out her hand to him. He smiled back to her and grabbed her hand.

They started to go to the river and were still holding hands.

Ken was thinking back on the stories he read when he was a kid about love at first sight. Maybe this was one of those times he thought.
